Meeting Brings IC to the Forefront
and Announces
Plans to Keep it There

<div align=“left”> Orlando, FL (May 22, 2008)—- On
Wednesday at this year’s American Urological
Association Annual Meeting, discussion of research
funding, drug safety, and education all had
implications for IC:
* Robert Star, MD, Director of the NIDDK, spoke
about IC and pelvic pain research funding in his talk
on the institute’s plans to revitalize research on
urology’s toughest problems.
* The FDA’s Commission unveiled new plans to
improve drug safety, spurred by a recall that affected
people with IC.
* Robert Moldwin, MD, led a practical, popular
course for urologists to train them in IC practice.
