For Grace’s main goal is to increase awareness of RSD to the level of well-known diseases such as Breast Cancer and HIV/AIDS statewide and nationally. We believe that raising awareness of RSD in the medical community and general public will lead to a quicker diagnosis, effective and comprehensive treatment implemented sooner and, ultimately, a much better quality of life outcome for those afflicted with RSD.

Also, we see increased medical research as an answer to alleviating the toll of human suffering due to RSD. For Grace will strive to have funding earmarked specifically for RSD research through public and private sources. We believe medical research will pave the way to a cure of RSD at any stage of its progression.

For Grace will succeed in meeting its awareness goals by utilizing a wide range of methods—mainly through the use of mass media and the Internet.

Primarily using Ms. Toussaint as our key spokesperson, For Grace will successfully impress upon mass media that RSD is a disease of great social importance and interest.

Also, For Grace will establish its website as the premier Internet portal for RSD information, as well as produce an RSD informational packet which will be distributed to physicians and medical schools nationwide.

Other awareness actions include producing and distributing Public Service Announcements, presence at health fairs and medical conferences, speaking engagements at civic organizations, state and national awareness tours and petitioning legislators to hold informational hearings.

As a powerful and unique contribution to our awareness efforts, For Grace is working creatively with a wide-range of supporting artists (actors, dancers, musicians, visual artists, etc.) to paint a metaphorical mural of the RSD experience for awareness and fundraising purposes.This component is an expression of Ms. Toussaint’s and Mr. Garrett’s background in the arts and will create a dynamic network of committed supporters.
