On behalf of For Grace, I invite you to a uniquely empowering event for women in pain, their caregivers and the healthcare professionals who treat them.
It’s our 6th Annual Women in Pain Conference to be hosted on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the California Endowment’s Center for Healthy Communities in downtown Los Angeles.
This year’s theme, “Getting Real: Transforming Hidden Truths Into Positive Action”, will focus on Chronic Pain and Coping, with a special emphasis on Positive Actions and Forgiveness. We’ll have special interactive sessions that will address the full-spectrum of coping choices - and how these choices can lead to better wellness, pain control and quality of life!
The conference will include live performance and creative arts by women in pain about the women in pain experience - featuring a photo essay by Dana Gambill, an award-winning art gallery by Radene Marie Cook and a vocal performance by Cynthia Toussaint that will provide an inspiring reflection of the day.
Five (5) CEUs will be available for Registered Nurses in attendance - and the event will be open to all via a live worldwide webcast by TVP Studios.
We’re proud to have assembled a distinguished roster of speakers and panelists for this innovative conference - included are Dr. Heather Poupore-King, Pain Psychologist, Stanford Pain Management Center, Dr. Forest Tennant, Pain Management Specialist and Kristina Breen, ordained minister and woman in pain.
We’re honored that California State Senator Sheila Kuehl will be this year’s recipient of the Patron of Women’s Right Award. Also, we’ll have special themed readings from award-winning actor Kevin Dobson (Knots Landing, House of Lies.)
