2018 Pain Summit Report Finalized

For Grace's White Paper committee finalized their report on our November 2018 Pain Summit which convened health care luminaries from across California. This comprehensive report - which provides an overview of chronic pain as an over-looked public health crisis, comprehensive integrative medicine as the care model to move pain management forward and a recommendation for a California Pain Center to  serve the 6-12 million people impacted by persistent pain - will be shared with legislators, staffers and health agency leaders at For Grace's legislative briefing on Wednesday, August 14 at the Sacramento State Capitol. Thank you all who made this report possible - and here's to better days ahead!

CA Briefing Covered on NPR

The National Pain Report's editor-in-chief, Ed Coghlan, wrote a comprehensive article about For Grace's fast approaching legislative briefing at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The article details the aim of the briefing which is to educate legislators, staffers and state health agency leaders about chronic pain as a public health crisis and its under-management. Further, presenters will urge policy makers to implement a Pain Center under the California Health and Human Services agency.

August Story of the Month

Please check out our August Woman In Pain Story of the Month! Kathleen Sutherland has lived with fibromyalgia for 25 years - and from the start was told by her doctors that her overly sensitive personality was the cause of her pain. At first consumed with guilt and shame, Kathleen followed their lead,  and her family and friends responded in kind. With time and much research, Kathleen came to see that she wasn't at fault and has now become an advocate for women in pain!
