For Grace founder Cynthia Toussaint was interviewed by Pat Wetzel on her "Bump In the Road" podcast, sharing how cancer has shaped her life over the last year. Along the "road", Cynthia has wrangled with CRPS for 38 years while navigating a healthcare system that discounted her experience at nearly every turn. Still, she shares with Pat positivity and authenticity keep her on the straight and narrow as she takes charge of her own wellness using integrative care.
Check out For Grace's August Story of the Month as we continue our focus on the pain-cancer connection. Kristina Breen had already been battling Complex Regional Pain Syndrome for a decade when two bouts of pre-cancer (atypical ductal hyperplasia and monoclonal gammaopathy) were thwarted. Confronted with a third, more serious cancer threat, she's beginning to think about how her pain and cancer are "starting to collide." Kristina's now focusing on how to become more empowered to heal herself as better health is "just out there, ready to be found."
Our spokesperson Cynthia Toussaint is nearing the completion of her second CD which will be titled Crazy and dedicated to women in pain who know they're not. Like her first, Wonder, this follow-up effort will capture different feelings and aspects of the pain experience. Crazy will include nine songs that Cynthia loved while growing up and that speak differently to her post-illness. All songs are completed, and we're set to shoot our cover and have the entire collection mastered for a November release.
Join host Cynthia Toussaint on her next episode of "The Pain-Cancer Connection" which streams live on five of The Mighty's Facebook pages, including their flagship MightySite page. This Tuesday, July 21st at 2pm PST, Cynthia again interviews her life partner, caregiver and For Grace director, John Garrett, to update all about her breast cancer treatment progress - the good, the bad and the ugly. The two will share tips on how to remain strong during the most challenging of times while detailing how her chronic pain is greatly complicating the healing process. Cynthia's biggest decision is on the horizon. Looking forward to your great comments and questions!
