Book Promotes Wellness Awakening

Woman in Pain Sasanna Yee is a contributor to the enlightening essays that make up Practice: Wisdom from the Downward Dog , a book that promotes the connection between mental and physical wellness. Partially inspired by Cynthia Toussaint's story, Sasanna shares how early life trauma prevented her from attaining joy and recovery from physical pain. Through the practice of movement and a healthier way to relate to her emotions, Sasanna found the peace to move on. Toussaint contributed an endorsement quote and we highly recommend this powerful read.

Specifically, they're seeking information about how the current public health crisis is impacting access and treatment for women living with chronic  conditions. Whole Body Pain & Cancer Explored

Join host Cynthia Toussaint on her next episode of "The Pain-Cancer Connection" which will stream live on five of The Mighty's Facebook pages, including their flagship MightySite Page. This Tuesday, May 19th at 2pm PST, Cynthia will interview integrative health expert and author, Dr. Wayne Jonas, about how cancer and chronic pain intersect and ways to successfully treat both diseases using the whole person healing approach. Women In Pain Summit Report

A final report was released this week by HealthyWomen spotlighting their July 2019 summit that focused on gaps and challenges in treating and managing  chronic pain in women. Key findings and recommendations in the report included efforts to reduce stigma surrounding chronic pain, inroads to address racial and gender disparities and improved methods of assessing pain. For Grace leaders John Garrett and Cynthia Toussaint participated on a panel that examined the chronic pain experience from both the patient and caregiver perspectives.
